Love and Death is the latest drama miniseries from HBO Max that's based on the chilling true events that sent a small town in Texas into a spiral in the '80s. The show follows two churchgoing couples, Candy and Pat Montgomery and Betty and Allan Gore, as they peacefully navigate life together. The peace doesn't last too long, though, as an unfaithful affair leads Candy to pick up an ax.

WandaVision's Elizabeth Olsen takes on the role of Candy while Friday Night Lights star Jesse Plemons plays Allan. The series also features American Horror Story's Lily Rabe, Patrick Fugit, Krysten Ritter, Tom Pelphrey, Keir Gilchrist, and Elizabeth Marvel.
